NettMiles aims to log miles travelled for business using a PDA and GPS

It's envisaged that it will be useful for the annual reporting of mileage for tax purposes as well as for claiming expences.
Logging mileage
  • Simply start the application on the PDA, ensuring that the GPS information is being received.
  • Toggle between business and personal miles by pressing a button on the screen.
  • The mileage travelled is displayed on the screen, and recorded in the database.
Uploading
Once you return to an internet connection, (or you can connect through GPRS if you want to pay the data charges) you can press the upload data button and your logs will be transferred to this website. You can only transfer data if you have registered - your data is linked to you by the username and password that you enter into the PDA application. You use the same details on the website.
Reporting
There are two ways to examine the data.
  1. A list of the journeys between the specified dates
  2. Examine each journey using a google map, viewing them day by day.
If you'd like to see some demonstration data, please login with the Username "Demo" and the password "Demo". Please note, the password is case sensitive.
Costs
  • At the moment this is a prototype system. I'd appreciate any feedback, so there is no charge for the time being.
  • If it becomes very popular or requires lots of development then there may be a charge.
  • The PDA Application can be downloaded and installed free of charge.
